Republic Act No. 11663 converts the San Lorenzo Elementary School in Barangay Bibincahan, Sorsogon City, Sorsogon, into the San Lorenzo Integrated National School. This transformation is significant for the local community as it aims to provide a more comprehensive educational system by integrating elementary and presumably secondary levels, fostering continuous learning within a single institution. By becoming an integrated national school, it is expected to receive dedicated funding from the national government through the annual General Appropriations Act, ensuring sustained support for its operations and improved educational resources for the students of Sorsogon City.
The Act's impact extends to the school's existing personnel, assets, liabilities, and records, all of which will be transferred to and absorbed by the newly established integrated school, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of services. The Secretary of Education is mandated to operationalize the school and promulgate implementing rules within sixty days of the Act's approval, underscoring the government's commitment to swiftly enhance educational opportunities in the area.
