HB10107: PHILIPPINE CREATIVE INDUSTRIES DEVELOPMENT ACT
This bill is designed to promote and develop the Philippine creative industries, recognizing their vital role in economic, social, and cultural development. For the people, this means fostering a vibrant environment where artists, artisans, creators, and all stakeholders in creative fields can thrive. It aims to protect their rights, enhance their capacities, create meaningful employment opportunities, and provide incentives to encourage entrepreneurship, ultimately leading to a stronger creative economy and a richer cultural landscape.
The Act establishes the Philippine Creative Industry Development Council to formulate policies and programs across various domains, including audiovisual media, digital interactive media, design, performing arts, and traditional cultural expressions. It provides for infrastructure support, research and development grants, digitalization initiatives, and access to credit for creative enterprises, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This comprehensive support system will empower Filipino talent, facilitate the global reach of Filipino creativity, and ensure that the creative sector contributes significantly to national income and job creation.
