HB01178: AN ACT AMENDING SECTIONS 17 AND 24 OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10086 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS "AN ACT STRENGTHENING PEOPLE'S NATIONALISM THROUGH PHILIPPINE HISTORY BY CHANGING THE NOMENCLATURE OF THE NATIONAL HISTORICAL INSTITUTE INTO THE NATIONAL HISTORICAL COMMISSION
This bill proposes amendments to the Charter of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) to strengthen its capacity to conserve and preserve the country's historical legacies. The amendments include enhancing the qualifications of the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director and allowing the NHCP to retain 50% of its income to support its projects and operations.
The most interesting provision is the proposal to allow the NHCP to retain 50% of its income. This will provide the NHCP with much-needed funds to maintain museums and support other projects, promoting a deeper understanding and appreciation of Philippine history.
