HB01289: CREATIVE PHILIPPINES ACT
This bill aims to institutionalize the "Creative Philippines Program," a stimulus and support initiative for Micro, Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (MSMEs) in the countryside. Inspired by the "Kalibutan Project," the program emphasizes the role of creativity and design in developing local products and services rooted in local culture and heritage. It seeks to provide comprehensive assistance to MSMEs in areas such as product design, packaging, technology updating, branding, cultural relevance, capacity building, standards compliance, and market access, with the goal of creating unique and market-ready products that benefit local communities socially, culturally, and economically.
The impact on the people is the empowerment of local communities and MSMEs by fostering creativity, innovation, and economic growth at a grassroots level. Through the program, Filipinos can develop and promote products and services that reflect their unique culture and competitive advantages, potentially leading to increased income streams, job creation, and enhanced pride of place. The establishment of a "Creative Philippines" Trustmark also aims to guarantee excellence and cultural relevance, promoting Filipino products both domestically and internationally.
