The bill also ensures basic necessities like adequate meals, safe drinking water, clean and accessible restrooms, private dressing rooms, safe holding areas, and free accommodation for out-of-town shoots, along with readily available emergency vehicles.
Furthermore, the "Eddie Garcia Act" prohibits abuse, physical violence, and harassment in the workplace, requiring employers to set policies against sexual harassment in line with existing laws. It emphasizes compliance with occupational safety and health standards, mandatory work-related accident or death insurance for all workers, and upholds the right to self-organization and collective bargaining. The bill also seeks to create a Tripartite Council to address industry-specific issues and protect intellectual property rights of performers, ensuring they receive a percentage of gross proceeds from subsequent use or broadcasting of their performance.
