HR02570: A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING THE PHILIPPINE DELEGATION IN THE EXPO 2020 DUBAI FOR THE BANGKÓTA PHILIPPINES PAVILION AND ITS RELATED ACTIVITIES

This resolution congratulates and commends the Philippine Delegation for its successful participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, specifically highlighting the Bangkóta Philippines Pavilion and its related activities. The Bangkóta, a coral reef-shaped structure spanning over 3,163.25 square meters, showcased the Philippines' creative community and was designed by Architect Royal Pineda to represent the hyper-connectivity of Filipinos and emphasize cultural sustainability. Curated by Marian Pastor Roces with music by National Artist for Music Ramon P. Santos, the pavilion updated global knowledge about the Filipino identity through various art forms and highlighted the works of Filipino Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The resolution also commends the Philippine National Day Program held on February 11, 2022, which featured the "Daluyong ng Diwa" or "Tides of our Soul" gala presentation. This musical, choreographed by Japhet Mari (JM) Cabling, with music and lyrics by Ejay Yatco, traced the 4,000-year story of the Filipino people and was produced and directed by Bart Guingona. The overall Philippine exhibition in Expo 2020 Dubai successfully shared Filipino culture and identity with the world, attracting at least one million visitors and bringing immense pride to the nation.
