HR02130: RESOLUTION ADOPTING AND ENDORSING THE NORTH LUZON GROWTH CORRIDOR (NLGC) STATEGIC PLAN FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTH LUZON REGIONS
This resolution proposes the adoption and endorsement of the North Luzon Growth Corridor (NLGC) Strategic Plan, a comprehensive framework for the sustainable development of North Luzon, which includes Regions 1 (Ilocos Region), Region 2 (Cagayan Valley), and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). The plan identifies collective visions, goals, missions, and objectives across various sectors such as agriculture, trade, industry, tourism, environment, social services, infrastructure, urban development, and governance. This plan is the result of extensive research by representatives from these regions and partylist representatives, incorporating their collective development objectives.
The significance of this resolution to the people is its aim to establish a master plan for the strategic development of North Luzon, intending to make the region globally competitive in the Asia-Pacific by 2040. By adopting and endorsing this plan, the House of Representatives seeks to provide a clear framework for both public and private stakeholders, which is crucial for fostering economic growth, improving living standards, and ensuring sustainable progress for the more than 10 million people residing in the North Luzon regions.
