The resolution congratulates and commends marathoner Mary Joy Tabal for winning the very first gold medal in the women's marathon in the 29th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Tabal's victory is particularly significant given her prior disqualification from the national team due to a conflict with the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA).
The resolution also commends Tabal's coach and the officials of PATAFA for their mentorship and support.
