HB08254: AN ACT CREATING FIVE (5) ADDITIONAL BRANCHES OF THE REGIONAL TRIAL COURT IN THE FOURTH JUDICIAL REGION TO BE STATIONED IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF ROSARIO AND SAN JUAN, PROVINCE OF BATANGAS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION

Republic Act No. 12114 creates five additional branches of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in the Fourth Judicial Region, with four branches stationed in Rosario and one in San Juan, Batangas. This act amends Section 14(e) of Batas Pambansa Blg. 129, also known as "The Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980." The Supreme Court is tasked with assigning branch numbers and issuing necessary rules and regulations for the effective implementation of this Act, including potential realignment of existing branches.

The creation of these new RTC branches is significant for the people of Batangas as it aims to improve access to justice by reducing the caseloads of existing courts and expediting legal processes. The Act provides for the necessary funding for the operationalization of these courts, including salaries and benefits for judges, court personnel, prosecutors, and public attorneys, as well as provisions for courtrooms. This expansion of judicial infrastructure and personnel will enhance the efficiency and accessibility of the justice system for the residents of Rosario and San Juan.
